Offices allow companies to develop relationships and cultures that are difficult to replicate digitally. However the COVID-19 episode seems to have forced the way we have had to work. Even before the rest of India decided to go into a lockdown, Techtinium decided to shut down its offices and move all employees to remote working.
A week later, we had an all-hands-meet to check how things have been progressing within the team. There were some recurring concerns during our standups:
- Collaboration and/or Communication within the team
- Unplugging after Work
- Reliable WiFi
- Distractions at Home
The office has been the place where our members shared a large amount of information in person — they stop by each others’ tables to get advice, clarify expectations over coffee or gather by the water cooler to talk.
The future seems uncertain but we are committed to getting back to a safe and vibrant environment as soon as possible.
