DupeBlock, a leading product authentication system provider, approached us seeking to revitalize their platform with modern design aesthetics, efficient data management, and a robust infrastructure. We saw an opportunity to craft a comprehensive anti-counterfeiting solution that addressed these challenges and empowered both product owners and consumers.
Here is what we did for them!
The Challenge
DupeBlock’s existing application, while functional, suffered from an outdated UI/UX that failed to engage users. Additionally, data resided on a legacy infrastructure, hindering scalability and security. The team found it difficult to build a more attractive design, seamless data migration, and a secure, future-proof foundation.
Solutions Engineered by Techtinium
- UI/UX revamp of the system ensuring user-friendliness and visual appeal.
- Data migration of existing data to a robust, secure, and scalable AWS Infrastructure.
- Dashboard for product owners to check the total product count, category breakdown & product scanning trends.
- Buyer's mobile app to scan the product-associated QR codes and instantly verify product authenticity.
- Buyer’s app displaying the number of times a particular product has been scanned.
- Personalized landing page for all the products displayed after a product is scanned.
Major Challenge: Combating Counterfeits
At Techtinium, we love challenges! The major challenge in this project involved identifying counterfeit products scanned by users. We addresses this by implementing a two-pronged approach:
- QR Code Scanning and IP Tracking to reveal the approximate location of the scan to identify potential counterfeiting hotspots.
- Map Feature within the dashboard to view scanning activity geographically allowing product owners to pinpoint areas with concentrated counterfeit product circulation.
Future Plan of Action
We are committed to continuous improvement, and with this in mind, here is our future plan of action for DupeBlock:
- NFC Tag Implementation: In addition to QR codes, we plan on integrating NFC tags to enhance our authentication capabilities.
- Mobile SDKs: To develop SDKs for iOS and Android, allowing brands to build their own authentication platforms using the DupeBlock infrastructure.
