Introduction
QTS, a truckload and less than truckload provides freight services to 48 states and Canada with dry van, flatbed, and rail services intending to deliver on time at competitive rates.
Since the early 2000s, they had been operating with an on-premise server and wanted to migrate their system to the cloud. They needed a partner to help with the migration so that their systems are always on and accessible from around the world.
The Challenge
- Complex Validation: The forms required validation at multiple levels—field, page, and form—making the transition to the web more complicated.
- Report Exporting: Existing systems had command line interaction that provided built-in exporting capabilities for reports, which were difficult to replicate in a web environment.
- User Management: Managing logins, roles, and users was more complex on the web compared to the desktop application.
- Multi-Page Forms: Some forms had multi-page layouts that were pushed into the database as a unit, a process not well-suited for web applications.
Techtinium's Collaboration with QTS:
- Legacy System Transformation: Converted approximately 64 screens and 62 reports from an undocumented legacy system to a modern, web-enabled platform, ensuring a seamless transition without data loss.
